Interior French Drain Installation

As a home inspector I am always looking for moisture during home inspections. When it comes to basement water proofing the most common practice is to dig around the exterior of the foundation and repair and waterproof from outside.

There are cases however where it is more suitable and less expensive to waterproof from the inside of the home by installing a french drain and dimple drainage mat on the inside face of the foundation wall to ensure that water is directed down to that French Drain.

I came across this excellent article by Hammer & Hand Construction that gives a wonderful guide on this subject. So take a look at the guide.
